My name is Josue O Gonzalez. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in the late 90’s. My glucose level and my blood pressure are under control after many years of managing this illness, through medication, diet and exercise. However, today my kidneys are failing as a result of all the prescriptions I used over the years to help me manage my diabetes.
My kidneys are in the process of shutting down. I am now in the process of completing all the necessary tests and evaluations, in preparation for a kidney transplant at Georgetown University Hospital Transplant Institute in Washington, DC.
